Small, focused apps. Currently SafeEat UK.
SafeEat UK shows official food hygiene ratings published by the UK Food Standards Agency. Search any UK postcode, or use your location, to see how restaurants, takeaways, cafés and pubs near you were rated at their last inspection.
The app shows ratings exactly as the FSA publishes them. It never invents a rating, never averages one, and never scores places itself. Where the FSA has published nothing, the app says so rather than guessing.
A hygiene rating reflects what an inspector found on one visit. It is not a review, it is not a measure of how good the food is, and it is not a guarantee about any visit you make.
Questions, problems or feedback about any of our apps:
If you are reporting a problem, please include your device model and iOS version. It also helps to say what you searched for and what you expected to see.
A rating looks wrong, or out of date. SafeEat shows what the FSA register currently holds, and cannot change it. Ratings are updated when a business is re-inspected. Corrections go to the local authority that carried out the inspection, via the Food Standards Agency.
Why do Scottish places show "Pass" rather than a number? Scotland uses a different scheme. SafeEat shows Scottish results in their own terms rather than converting them into a score they were never given.
Why can I not see a place I know exists? Only businesses on the FSA register appear. Results more than five years old are hidden by default, as are premises the public cannot eat at, such as school and care home kitchens.
How do I cancel Premium? Premium is an Apple subscription, so you cancel it in your Apple ID settings under Subscriptions. The app links you straight there from Settings.
